What is your first instantaneous memory of Parkview?

Lots of fun friends, pep rallies, endless conversations on any day, any time, anywhere. We had the best of it all!

Who was your favorite teacher and/or class and why?

Mrs. Decatur. She was such a sweet lady and really cared about her students. English wasn't my best subject but Don Butts sat behind me and that helped.

What was your most embarrassing moment at Parkview?

I'm sure there were many, but can't remember them now. Probably being ask questions that I didn't know the answers. That seemed to happen alot in class?????

What was your favorite song and who sang it?

All of the songs that remind me of my friends and fun days of parties, dances, school programs and plays. Bunking parties, car rides, dating and moments that made us cry. When I hear them today....it all comes back, each person and every event!

Describe your car and favorite destination:

Little blue Nash Rambler convertible and later red Chevy convertible. Taylor's was the place to be and see everyone. Hamburgers weren't bad either. We could sure pack alot of friends in those cars back then???

How have you changed since Parkview?

I think I've changed alot over the years, but really have remained the same. I still love my family, my friends, my pets, and Jesus! I love being with people more than being alone. I look forward to seeing people achieve their desires in life and don't want anyone to think less of themselves than who and what they were created to be. We are blessed for the most part just as we were during our high school days.

What careers have you pursued?

The two main careers have been developing Linda's Flower and Bridal Center. The second, going into full time ministry. Pastored a church, bible school and developed "The Praying Field". A place for Retreats, Seminars, and Training Sessions for Women's Ministry. What a full life!

What has been your most exciting or interesting experience?

Raising six sons and proud of them all!

What do you do these days to have fun?

I love RV traveling with Sam and the dogs. We can jump in and go whenever, wherever. What a life! I love the outdoors :)

What is it you still hope to do/accomplish?

Just finish my life in a manner that would be pleasing to the Lord. Enjoy my children and friends and do whatever I can to make their life happy. This is the best time so far!

Comments:

Fifty years is alot of time to cover, but without all of those years, none of us would be who we are today. We have won a few and lost a few. We have been happy and we have been sad. But, through it all, we have remained classmates and friends. Thankful for each success and learning from each failure. The main thing is that we are the result of everyday of our life and how we have accepted ourselves. We are a class of Winners!
35 years ago I married Sam I Jones and we put two families together...........three boys each and what a fun time in our household.......wow?
We established Linda's Flowers in 1976. Went into full time ministry in 1992 and retired in 2008. We continue to travel and volunteer in many areas of ministry. Most of all, we now have more time with our children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. I'm looking forward to our 50th reunion. It has been awhile since I thought I knew so much and was all grown up!

School Story:

Have been classmates with many of our graduating class since Grade School at Rountree and Campbell, Junior High School at Jarrett and then moving to Parkview for our High School years. What a priviledge to grow up in Springfield. After attending Draughon's Business School following graduation.......I took some time out for family and business only returning to school and graduating at the age of 57 with a Theology Degree, on to a Masters and Doctorate and Associate degree in Christian Counseling. What fun and a challenge after so many years. Parkview was a place we all formed lasting friendships, felt we were totally grown up only to discover we had just begun. Thanks to many of you, our years together as young people were so full of fun and laughter. We continue to learn each day that we live and the longer we live, the more we realize ............we are blessed!
